Since the death of her husband, she has single-handedly kept the hotel afloat using crafty solutions, boundless energy and creativity to keep guests happy. She is fiercely independent, refusing help or support from anyone, and she's always there with a quip or smart remark.    Must be strong but likable  personality. Lloyd Cooper will serve as Musical Director and Conductor, and the production will be supervised by Cabrillo Music Theatre’s Artistic Director, Lewis Wilkenfeld. David Engel, five-time Ovation Award winner, will choreograph and play the lead role of Don Lockwood (the role made famous by Gene Kelly). The role of Cosmo Brown (the Donald O’Connor role) will be played by Randy Rogel. The 2008 production of SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN will include the rarely-staged movie version of the “Broadway Melody Ballet.” &lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN begins rehearsal for non-AEA around June 21st, and for AEA on June 30th or July 7th, 2008. The first Broadway musical revue ever to win the Tony Award for Best Musical, AINT MISBEHAVIN will be directed by Ken Page, a member of the original Broadway cast.  Darryl Archibald will serve as Musical Director, and the production will be overseen by Cabrillo Music Theatres Artistic Director, Lewis Wilkenfeld.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AINT MISBEHAVIN begins rehearsal in Thousand Oaks on Monday, December 17th.  Performances run January 4th through the 13th, 2008 at the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Countrywide Performing Arts Center.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' is an ensemble piece with five star performances. The cast must be able to work in both capacities. The actual star of the evening is FATS WALLER and his music.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All must be strong actors and movers as well as singers. Prepare two contrasting pieces from the show for your particular character; also have an extra period piece not from the show on hand. Be prepared to move if asked. Age is not a dominant factor. All must be able to meet high energy performance levels.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;NELL  African American; Leading lady, comedic actress.  Assured woman's presence. Self-aware sexuality.  Should be good at physical comedy. Vocal range  Alto, with a high belt range. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ARMELIA  African American; Leading lady, character actress.  Must be able to play several distinct characters.  An overhaul lady-like demeanor. Vocal range - high soprano with a belt.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;CHARLAINE  African American; Leading lady, ingénue. Classy young woman. Vivacious energy.  Strong dancer (tap).  Must handle broad comedy well.  Vocal range  alto, with character soprano notes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; ANDRÉ  African American; Leading man.  Man about town, a dandy. Strong Dancer. Sly, sensual sexuality. Wide vocal range  bass to high baritone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;KEN  African American; Leading man - Character actor.  Strong comedic acting ability a must. Any resemblance to Fats Waller a plus. Larger man a preference. Wide vocal range  bass to high baritone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Three Equity contracts available (Guest Artist, Tier III).  ALL ROLES OPEN TO NON-EQUITY! Having recently completed a three-year-run on Broadway, JEKYLL &amp; HYDE will be directed by multiple Ovation Award-winning director Nick DeGruccio.  The production will be overseen by Cabrillo Music Theatre’s Artistic Director, Lewis Wilkenfeld.   &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;JEKYLL &amp; HYDE rehearses in Thousand Oaks, beginning Monday, February 4th, 2008 (non-Equity performers) and Monday, February 11th (Equity performers).
